DECONSTRUCTION SERVICES
Deconstruction is the systematic disassembly of a structure in order to maximize the reuse and recycling of the materials.
Have a remodel or demolition project?
Olympia Salvage is a licensed, bonded, and insured demolition contractor (OLYMPS946*ON). We offer complete deconstruction services, as well as partial salvage options, helping you keep materials out of the landfill and reducing overall project costs through your tax deductible donation.
Environmental Benefits of Deconstruction
Deconstruction of an average home (2,000 sq ft.) can divert 108 tons of material from the landfill when compared to demolition.
The amount of lumber that can be salvaged from that same home is equal to 6,000 board feet.
All materials in your home contain "embodied energy", which is a total of all the energy input incurred during the initial harvest, milling, manufacture, and transport of the material. By reusing these materials, 95% of this energy can be saved.
The average home contains 892 million BTU's of embodied energy, or 7,826 gallons of gasoline, enough to drive an SUV around the planet 5 1/2 times.

REDUCE COSTS THROUGH TAX SAVINGS!
Realize the value and honor the history of your building by deconstructing and receiving a tax deductible receipt for the value of the salvaged materials. Often, this benefit can significantly offset labor costs and disposal fees over the course of your project. We offer salvage services in addition to full deconstruction. Let our crew come to your project and remove cabinets, plumbing fixtures, flooring... Whatever the scope of your remodel, we can often customize our services to your job site.
As a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization we are able to offer tax-deductible receipts for most donations received from deconstruction and salvage projects.
We are a licensed and bonded contractor (License # OLYMPS*946ON) and our employees have a reputation for being friendly, efficient, and safety conscious.

TESTIMONIALS
Hear what others have to say about working with Olympia Salvage Deconstruction Services...
"The deconstruction crew was wonderful! They worked tremendously hard everyday with enthusiasm. The communication they kept with me was unsurpassable. I wish every contractor would be as professional, and courteous. They did what it took to make sure our construction project stayed on schedule."
"It feels good to know I made the right decision to have my home deconstructed instead of demolished and sent to the landfill. I appreciate Olympia Salvage caring enough about our world to offer this business to our community."
- Peggy, Deconstruction Client, Summer 2004
"They are very responsive, which is even harder to find right now with construction booming. They were right on the spot all the time, taking care of things. They did a great job of salvaging things. That's the main thing, being able to re-use thousands and thousands of dollars worth of stuff rather than hauling it off to the dump. They salvaged almost the entire building, which was incredible."
- Doug, General Contractor, Home remodel project 2005
